Learning in Health and Social Care Takes on a Growing Importance

Health education is a social science that collaborates with the biological, environmental, psychological, material, and medical fields to promote health and avoid disease, incapacity, and early death through carefully monitored behaviour changes that are motivated by education. Development of health awareness, identity, skills, and behaviour involves expanding individual, group, institutional, community, and systemic planning. Educating people about health is intended to influence people's health behaviours and the work environment and livelihood that influence their health. People who work in the field of health education must educate others about their health. This field of work includes the subgroups of environmental health, physical health, social health, emotional health, intellectual health, spiritual health, and sexual and reproductive health education. Health education is an essential initial step in the campaign to increase people's health awareness.
